Isn’t it irritating when you witness a breathtaking sunset but can’t really capture the stunning beauty of it all? Me too.

Yes! That’s the most irksome part of photographing sunrise/sunset: a device that doesn’t capture the magnificence of what you see.
I’ve photographed the last two spectacular sunsets with my phone AND my camera, but, alas and alack, I can only post those from my phone at the moment (don’t ask).
I love your sunset, Pam. It’s beautiful. Absolutely beautiful.
P.S. I can trick my phone into capturing most of the colors by zooming in and then quickly taking the photo after rapidly aiming the phone in the proper direction. The foreground is rarely in focus, but the colors are close to what the naked eye sees. Fortunately, my camera doesn’t need to be tricked into it, but I don’t have a way to upload the images to Henry’s computer, nor do I have *MY* computer for that very purpose. One of these days…one of these days…

So True Pam! Mom always told us practice makes perfect and try try again! But additionally I say is difficult to translate what each of us might be feeling and witnessing in our own personal minds eye at a given moment as in this life is a miracle and each moment a gift which we are each of us experiencing from our own unique individual perspective in that we are all quite unique. So we try our best hopefully to communicate what we see and fell as something of beauty and though it can never be a perfect transfer of mind and heart to another this is all very inspiring to me as a prelude of what is to come!

By the way just in case you weren’t aware when i used to do some work in 35mm motion picture film the DP and Director in certain scenes wanted to capture all they could during the Magic or Golden Hour or at times depending on what is the goal it could be the Magic Moment at Dawn or Dusk hat will accomplish what it is you desire in the shot, and there are special tricks to make sure the opportunity isn’t lost so that the visual is the best possible.
Daphne Lefran explains it well here which I located now being in a hurry to leave I wanted to get you and your friends on a roll to get more of what you want in your beautiful photos!
“Photography is all about light, and the quality of light can make all the difference between an average photo and a stunning photo. Magic hour — also commonly referred to as “golden hour” — is the time of day when the sun is low and near the horizon, providing a warm glow. It occurs twice a day, in the hours of dusk and dawn. As the sun is either rising or setting, the sunlight appears as flowing gold light that casts a glow everywhere. This hazy, warm light is why most photographers agree that magic hour is the best time of day to shoot.”

Unlike being on a film shoot where you’re not only burning daylight, the just right light for the shot; but they are burning lots of money as time is money in that business big time. Feature films are an enormous cost per minute of production cost and even just the photography is exorbitant! But you are at your leisure to experiment, and you do have that luxury to take your time and try numerous times!
