New Level of Stupid

The same man who thought that Guam might “tip over”…

…believes that Fast and Furious is a product of the NRA and the Tea Party!

It’s not often someone brings Anderson Cooper to the brink of incredulity, but Hank evidently has a gift for it. Almost unbelievable.

Filched from Pat Dollard.

Fast and Furious was a vehicle for gun control.
From ConservativeByte:

Documents obtained by CBS News show that the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) discussed using their covert operation “Fast and Furious” to argue for controversial new rules about gun sales.

In Fast and Furious, ATF secretly encouraged gun dealers to sell to suspected traffickers for Mexican drug cartels to go after the “big fish.” But ATF whistleblowers told CBS News and Congress it was a dangerous practice called “gunwalking,” and it put thousands of weapons on the street. Many were used in violent crimes in Mexico. Two were found at the murder scene of a U.S. Border Patrol agent.

Just before all of this, the obama administration had tried to make the case for gun control by stating that violence in Mexico was due to “irresponsible gun dealers” here in the U.S. The problem was, they couldn’t find any, so what did they do?
They invented them and allowed the guns to be lost.

Then it blew up in their faces.

A truly impeachable offense and yes, a new level of stupid.

This, as Allahpundit puts it, is a video knee to the groin.

I’m trying to think: Is there any other actor in Hollywood whose scorn would sting more than this guy’s? Being demagogued by a halfwit celebrity is normally a badge of honor — just ask the boss emeritus — but … I really like Morgan Freeman, notwithstanding his alleged freaky-deakiness. I don’t know what’s more disappointing, his paint-by-numbers racial reductionism or the fact that his argument about special conservative animus towards Obama vis-a-vis Bill Clinton is so stupid that even Piers Morgan feels obliged to rebut it.

Really? We hear this sort of crap -and worse- from Malik Shabazz, Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson and even Rep. Cleaver, the head of the Congressional Black Caucus. We get it from neighbors and friends.. and family. But Morgan Freeman? I thought he was better than that, more thoughtful, more logical.

And now he’s just ruined every role he ever played to exquisite perfection… for me, at least. Guess I shouldn’t have been surprised, but this felt personal.

Obama Administration to Ban Asthma Inhalers Over Environmental Concerns

Asthma patients who rely on over-the-counter inhalers will need to switch to prescription-only alternatives as part of the federal government’s latest attempt to protect the Earth’s atmosphere.

The Food and Drug Administration said Thursday patients who use the epinephrine inhalers to treat mild asthma will need to switch by Dec. 31 to other types that do not contain chlorofluorocarbons, an aerosol substance once found in a variety of spray products.

The action is part of an agreement signed by the U.S. and other nations to stop using substances that deplete the ozone layer, a region in the atmosphere that helps block harmful ultraviolet rays from the Sun.

But the switch to a greener inhaler will cost consumers more. Epinephrine inhalers are available via online retailers for around $20, whereas the alternatives, which contain the drug albuterol, range from $30 to $60.

Get away from my grill, hippy!

I thought this was an Onion article, but no…

Fire Up the Grill, Not the Atmosphere

FOOD is responsible for 10 to 30 percent of global greenhouse gas emissions. By many estimates, cooking represents more of a meal’s carbon footprint than transport. For certain vegetables, it accounts for more emissions than agriculture, transport and disposal combined.

Fourth of July, the national celebration of combustion, presents an opportunity for atonement.

I’m not advising you to forsake grilling this holiday and join the ranks of raw-foodists. Nor do I believe that we can reverse climate change by eating burgers rare instead of well done. But a little creative thinking can reduce this year’s Fourth of July carbon emissions without gustatory sacrifice. And maybe that awareness will carry into other days and other parts of our lives.

Consider potato salad: a pale mixture of boiled potatoes and mayonnaise that is sometimes appetizing but always wasteful. An overwhelming majority of the energy in boiling goes into heating the water rather than cooking the potatoes.

Atonement? Potato salad is always wasteful? Oh, hell no.

Calculate your carbon footprint while eating the disastrous beef!

First, a green disclaimer. Beef is an environmental disaster, no matter how you cook it. However, if you can’t resist grilled cow, your big decision is between charcoal and propane.

Charcoal is made of wood, so the carbon it releases upon combustion is approximately equal to the carbon the tree it came from once removed from the atmosphere. In theory, charcoal should be less damaging than propane, which releases carbon that has been sequestered harmlessly underground for hundreds of millions of years.

The writer goes on and on, until near the end he remarks that there’s nothing very sacred about cooking out on the Fourth of July, so why not do something else?

Hey, what about those of us who are lucky enough to live in mild climes? We use the grill -propane!- year round! Know why? It saves electricity and is cheaper. Plus, the meat tastes better. Roll that up in your hemp shorts and smoke it along with those ‘carbon credits’ you’re paying AlGore for!

Man has always charred the flesh of animals over a fire, dammit.

‘Heterosexism’

June 26, 2011

If you believe that marriage should be between a man and a woman, then you are a ‘heterosexist’, which is apparently akin to ‘racist’.

USDA gay-sensitivity training seeks larger audience

U.S. Department of Agriculture activists want to impose their intense brand of homosexual sensitivity training government wide, including a discussion that compares “heterosexism” – believing marriage can be between only one man and one woman – to racism.

If accepted by the Obama administration, that move could mean more sessions for military service members already undergoing gay-sensitivity indoctrination. Critics fear additional gay-oriented training would add an unnecessary burden for combat troops and encourage some to leave.

USDA officials have asked the Office of Personnel Management (OPM), which oversees all federal employee policies, to impose its gay-awareness programs on all federal departments, according to an internal newsletter. The training includes a discussion of “heterosexism” and compares it to racism. It says people who view marriage as being between only one man and one woman are guilty of “heterosexism.”

The USDA’s senior training coordinator, Bill Scaggs, has developed a sensitivity program far more extensive than the Pentagon’s training for the anticipated lifting of the ban on open ho[JUMP]mosexuals in the ranks. His training program, which OPM calls “groundbreaking [and a] model for other agencies,” delves more into gay issues and terminology. It also justifies pro-homosexual political positions.

Elaine Donnelly, who heads the Center for Military Readiness and opposes the repeal of the military’s ban on acknowledged gays, said it would be a mistake for the administration of President Obama to impose the USDA sensitivity training program on the Pentagon.

“There are disturbing implications for national defense in the USDA’s development of a ‘groundbreaking’ training program that is to become a model for other federal agencies,” she told The Washington Times.

She predicted that, once the ban is lifted, “training programs similar to the USDA’s LGBT Special Emphasis Program will become a growth industry within the Department of Defense.”

“This would drive out thousands of experienced troops, starting with chaplains and people of faith who do not support LGBT ideology and activism,” she said.

Mr. Scaggs‘ briefing for USDA employees is titled “Including Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity in Diversity.”

Slides used for briefing presentations reveal topics such as “courageous conversations” and “What can I do to promote workplace diversity?”

The briefing defines “heterosexism” as an “’ism’ like sexism or racism, where one is considered better than others.” It gives as examples the ban on gays serving openly in the military and laws that define marriage as a union between one man and one woman.

Agriculture Department spokesman Justin DeJong said gay diversity training is part of an overall program to correct past systemic discrimination at USDA.

What is a “pro-homosexual political position”? Seriously, I’ve no idea.

I don’t give two shits about what people do with other people in private, whether with the opposite sex, same sex or cloven footed beasts. But defining the belief of possibly half the country as an ‘ism’ like racism? Yes, I know. That’s one volley in one battle in an ongoing war. And for some reason I feel like they’re shooting at me.

Sigh.

In This Time Of Economic Turmoil…

do we really need to hear from the likes of this all-star schmuck?

On Thursday afternoon, CBS and Warner Bros. Television announced they were stopping production on Two and a Half Men for the remainder of the season due to Sheen’s recent “statements, conduct and condition.” On O’Brien’s show, Sheen said he would fight to get paid for the remaining unproduced episodes. The actor currently makes $1.8 million per episode for his work on the show.

Two and a Half Men ends production for the season following Charlie Sheen’s radio rant

“Defeat is not an option,” he said. “They know what they did was wrong they are in absolute breach [of contract]. I did nothing wrong. I expressed an opinion; I get the first amendment behind me. Defeat is not an option.”

Somebody needs to bitch slap this douchebag after pointing out that his First Amendment rights don’t protect him from being tossed out on his ass from his “job”.

Breast milk ice cream

While not exactly cannibalistic, it just seems wrong.

A specialist ice cream parlor plans to serve up breast milk ice cream and says people should think of it as an organic, free-range treat.

The breast milk concoction, called the “Baby Gaga,” will be available from Friday at the Icecreamists restaurant in London’s Covent Garden.

Icecreamists founder Matt O’Connor was confident his take on the “miracle of motherhood” and priced at a hefty 14 pounds ($23) a serving will go down a treat with the paying public.

The breast milk was provided by mothers who answered an advertisement on online mothers’ forum Mumsnet.

Victoria Hiley, 35, from London was one of 15 women who donated milk to the restaurant after seeing the advert.

Hiley works with women who have problems breast-feeding their babies. She said she believes that if adults realized how tasty breast milk actually is, then new mothers would be more willing to breast-feed their own newborns.

“What could be more natural than fresh, free-range mother’s milk in an ice cream? And for me it’s a recession beater too — what’s the harm in using my assets for a bit of extra cash,” Hiley said in a statement.

“I tried the product for the first time today — it’s very nice, it really melts in the mouth.”

The Baby Gaga recipe blends breast milk with Madagascan vanilla pods and lemon zest, which is then churned into ice cream.
