Forever Lazy or Forever Childish? Footie PJs for adults already exist but here comes the wearable snuggle sack…
Do I have to say it? Okay, I have wanted footie pj’s since my mama made me quit wearing them… too soon, for my taste. Have I gotten any? Hell, no. But I still want them…
Is the Forever Lazy for real? It sort of reminds me of a snuggly version of my father’s coveralls…
I messed with some willow fencing, attaching it to the chain link separating blue house and ourselves… then took a peek at the lily bed, where some mulch was going down.
Then a wasp stung the back of my right hand. Inside the house for some therapy with a bag of frozen peas.
Back outside, my left knee grumbled at having to move. Back inside for Advil and some frozen corn therapy.
Again outside, I cleaned out the lily bed in preparation for the mulch. Bending over, my lower back asked: ‘who said you could do that?’. Inside and frozen broccoli.
Once more into the breach. The bed cleaned and waiting for mulch, I turned my head the wrong way and the disc in my neck cursed.
I only hope I’ve got enough frozen vegetables to get through the day…
How bloody frustrating. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is evidently FUBAR.
Update… happy little lily bed. Can I play the Sims now?
Know what I like most about the position of this bed? My neighbor and I can both watch the lilies blooming…
Pun totally intended! Okay, something light in preparation of my impending trip to the mainland to completely destroy Pam and Mike’s doors install new doors for Pam and Mike:
If it weren’t for the fact that I have the portfolio and references to back up that I absolutely know what I’m doing when it comes to construction, I would never admit that I have done most of what is listed in the right hand column of this article, especially with the tape measure, plane, pencil, saw and hammer!
In fact, the nice thing about having as much building experience as I do is that it lets me use a rock and a screwdriver for a hammer and chisel because I am too damned lazy to go to the Knaack box and get what I really need, and all that my associates on the job will do is shake their heads and roll their eyes. At least I have something to show for all those years…people leave me alone for the most part, even at the job I have now, as top-heavy as it is with managerial types.
I’m hijacking Pam’s blog since I don’t have one of my own set up yet for Key West. We have had no time what with getting the kids in school, finding work and a place to live. ‘m hoping things settle down a bit after we move in to a house we found this weekend.
Meanwhile, I have a job that is making me happier than anything I’ve done since I left California. Oddly enough, it’s doing maintenance for the Conch Train, which is owned by a company that was founded here and has a number of different tourist concessions in Key West and other cities.
The pay is low, but my first job actually entails doing what I love. I’m rebuilding the cabinetry in this ticket booth:
I was set up with a temporary shop space, and they were looking specifically for someone with carpentry experience, so I’m hoping that my job will, as time goes on, prove to be more carpentry than anything else.
Meanwhile, we keep pressing forward hoping we can keep financing this grand adventure. Every day is a challenge but as I keep saying, it could be worse – it could be Oklahoma…
I remember Tamitha Freemen. Harvey says: “She’s got beautiful puppies”.
"Lord, keep our servicemen and women safe, whether they serve at home or overseas. Hold them and their families in your loving hands and protect them as they protect us."
