Almost as good as “Give peace a chance” (translated: I just served Israel up to Iran), we’ve been hearing about obama’s pen for five years now. Partly because he loves bragging about it and partly because he’s used the shit out of it.
This time it’s about jobs. Except, it’s really not.
With two weeks left before delivering an economy-focused State of the Union address to Congress, Obama is picking up the pace of his jobs message and demonstrating how he can advance his economic agenda administratively and through his ability to coax action from important interest groups.
“We’re not just going to be waiting for legislation in order to make sure that we’re providing Americans the kind of help they need. I’ve got a pen and I’ve got a phone,” Obama said Tuesday as he convened his first Cabinet meeting of the year.
Obama continued: ”And I can use that pen to sign executive orders and take executive actions and administrative actions that move the ball forward in helping to make sure our kids are getting the best education possible, making sure that our businesses are getting the kind of support and help they need to grow and advance, to make sure that people are getting the skills that they need to get those jobs that our businesses are creating.”
Brother, can you spare a… pen?
Further in the article he claims the economy is improving. He’s been saying that for five years, but five years ago we didn’t have 92 million Americans out of work.
You didn’t ask but I’ll tell you how to get the economy back on track: KILL OBAMACARE. Twice as many people are signing up for Medicaid as private insurance through the exchanges. Who’s working to pay for that? Not younger people.
He’s got a pen and we’re not free anymore. Not to decide how we want to make or spend our money or even lead our lives.
Hope N’ Change?
According to the pResident, we need to change. Of course when he says ‘we’ he means everyone but himself.
Remarking on the anniversary of the Newtown tragedy obama said:
“These tragedies must end, and that to end them, we must change.”
“We have to do more to keep dangerous people from getting their hands on a gun so easily. We have to do more to heal troubled minds. We have to do everything we can to protect our children from harm and make them feel loved, and valued, and cared for,” he said. “As a nation, we can’t stop every act of violence. We can’t heal every troubled mind. But if we want to live in a country where we can go to work, send our kids to school, and walk our streets free from fear, we have to keep trying. We have to keep caring. We have to treat every child like they’re our child. Like those in Sandy Hook, we must choose love. And together, we must make a change.”
It sounds good, doesn’t it? Nice sound bites; “heal the minds”, “make our children feel loved”, as if we don’t do that already… “choose love”. Except he’s really talking about gun control. “We haven’t done enough” means stricter gun laws.

First, the labor force participation rate, which plunged from 63.2% to 62.8% – the lowest since 1978! But more importantly, the number of people not in the labor force exploded by nearly 1 million, or 932,000 to be exact, in just the month of October, to a record 91.5 million Americans! This was the third highest monthly increase in people falling out of the labor force in US history.
That’s a lot of people hurting due to the horrible policies of the sitting pResident.

President Barack Obama told his enthusiastic supporters Monday night that he never promised what video recordings show him promising at least 29 times.
The videos show Obama promising 300 million Americans that “if you like your health-care plan, you will be able to keep your health-care plan, period.”
But that’s not what he really said, Obama announced Monday in a speech to about 200 Organizing for Action supporters, gathered at the St. Regis hotel in D.C.
“What we said was you could keep it if it hasn’t changed since the law was passed,” he told Obamacare’s political beneficiaries and contractors.
