Touting immigration reform in a speech to law enforcement yesterday, obama said that time is running short. What he should have said was “I made things a whole lot harder for you”.
President Obama on Tuesday said the House has a “very narrow window” of two or three months to move forward on immigration reform.
“The closer we get to midterm elections, the harder it will be to get things done,” Obama said during a meeting with more than 40 law enforcement officials Tuesday at the White House.
The president tailored his remarks to the audience, arguing that having to focus on immigration enforcement was stopping police from “chasing gang bangers and going after violent criminals.”
“Our broken immigration system makes it harder for our law enforcement agencies to do their job,” Obama said.
Since when has any agency enforced illegal immigration under obama? Illegals who have committed crimes are picked up, but incarcerated here, not deported.
But… it’s an obama world… And he most certainly has made law enforcement’s job tougher, not to mention our lives worse, by releasing 36,000 murderers, rapists and drunk drivers.. because they’re illegal immigrants?
Way to hate us.
Immigration officials knowingly released dozens of murderers and thousands of drunken drivers back into the U.S. in 2013, according to Obama administration statistics that could undercut the president’s argument that he is trying to focus on the most serious criminals in his immigration enforcement.
Among the 36,000 immigrants whom U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement released from custody last year there were 116 with convictions for homicide, 43 for negligent manslaughter, 14 for voluntary manslaughter and one with a conviction classified by ICE as “homicide-willful kill-public official-gun.”
The immigrants were in deportation proceedings, meaning ICE was trying to remove them from the country and could have held them in detention but released them anyway, according to the Center for Immigration Studies, which published the numbers Monday. The Washington Times also obtained the data.
“This would be considered the worst prison break in American history, except it was sanctioned by the president and perpetrated by our own immigration officials,” said Rep. Lamar Smith, Texas Republican. “The administration’s actions are outrageous. They willfully and knowingly put the interests of criminal immigrants before the safety and security of the American people.”

According to The Washington Free Beacon, President Barack Obama’s budget proposal also calls for $1.1 billion to “protect Americans from gun violence—including $182 million to support the president’s ‘Now is the Time’ gun safety initiative.”
Obama’s Now Is the Time initiative would ban “assault weapons” and limit ammunition magazines to 10 rounds.
Of course, I took the graphic and made some notes… because, seriously.
For one thing, he and his leftist cronies call guns ‘assault weapons’ because of some decorative frippery attached. It’s not logical.
‘Nuturing’ in the schools? What happened to ‘teaching’? Or is that best left to parents?
Emergency response is a good thing, but why the need for a billion dollars of our tax money to do it? Shouldn’t schools nation-wide take that up as the district deems necessary? Or the state?
It’s another damned slush fund couched around a familiar demon. Only for most Americans, there is no devil to slay.
When asked about Russia/Ukraine at a press conference, obama gave a startling answer; they’re a ‘regional power’.
This is one dangerous man… not for Russia, but us.
President Barack Obama is seeking to abolish two highly successful missile programs that experts say have helped the U.S. Navy maintain military superiority for the past several decades.
The Tomahawk missile program—known as “the world’s most advanced cruise missile”—is set to be cut by $128 million under Obama’s fiscal year 2015 budget proposal and completely eliminated by fiscal year 2016, according to budget documents released by the Navy.
In addition to the monetary cuts to the program, the number of actual Tomahawk missiles acquired by the United States would drop significantly—from 196 last year to just 100 in 2015. The number will then drop to zero in 2016.
The Navy will also be forced to cancel its acquisition of the well-regarded and highly effective Hellfire missiles in 2015, according to Obama’s proposal.
The proposed elimination of these missile programs came as a shock to lawmakers and military experts, who warned ending cutting these missiles would significantly erode America’s ability to deter enemy forces.
Nearly 100 of these missiles are used each year on average, meaning that the sharp cuts will cause the Tomahawk stock to be completely depleted by around 2018. This is particularly concerning to defense experts because the Pentagon does not have a replacement missile ready to take the Tomahawk’s place.
“It doesn’t make sense,” said Seth Cropsey, director of the Hudson Institute’s Center for American Seapower. “This really moves the U.S. away from a position of influence and military dominance.”
Cropsey said that if someone were trying to “reduce the U.S. ability to shape events” in the world, “they couldn’t find a better way than depriving the U.S. fleet of Tomahawks. It’s breathtaking.”
The cuts are “like running a white flag up on a very tall flag pole and saying, ‘We are ready to be walked on,’” Cropsey said.
Retired Army Lt. Col. Steve Russell called the cuts to the Tomahawk program devastating for multiple reasons.
“We run a huge risk because so much of our national policy for immediate response is contingent on our national security team threatening with Tomahawk missiles,” said Russell, who is currently running for Congress.
“The very instrument we will often use and cite, we’re now cutting the program,” Russell said. “There was a finite number [of Tomahawk’s] made and they’re not being replenished.”
He hates us. He really, really hates us.
He has it.
The millionaire with enough power to change laws at will and drop bombs on whichever country pisses him off without Congressional approval… the one, the only Barack.
As is his right as supreme high orifice, the obama is telling us not just what we must buy but how we should spend our pennies in order to afford his mandated shit snack….
Barack Obama appeared in a town hall for Spanish-language media on March 6th to discuss ObamaCare and promote enrollments, and got challenged by a viewer on the economics of it for low-income Americans who are now forced to buy comprehensive health insurance. On a $36,000 annual income, the requirement to buy the broad policy rather than something a little more economical — say, hospitalization coverage combined with an HSA, a strategy which is now all but illegal — makes it impossible to comply. Pshaw, Obama replied. Why, all those low-income folks need to do is stop spending money on luxuries like cable television and cell phones!
He’s gonna wish he hadn’t paid for cable when his kids get sick! Hahaha! And you know, there are subsidized plans (medicaid) *wink wink*.
Obamacare is so ridiculously expensive nobody wants it… and it’s changed everyone’s policies, regardless of company. We used to pay out the nose for great insurance. Now we pay out the nose for shitty insurance. Thanks, obama! And what do we do, with no cable, your Highness? Give up eating??!
“That’s the good thing about being President; I can do whatever I want”
~Barack Hussein Obama
‘ObamaCare” is useful shorthand for the Affordable Care Act not least because the law increasingly means whatever President Obama says it does on any given day. His latest lawless rewrite arrived on Monday as the White House decided to delay the law’s employer mandate for another year and in some cases maybe forever.
ObamaCare requires businesses with 50 or more workers to offer health insurance to their workers or pay a penalty, but last summer the Treasury offered a year-long delay until 2015 despite having no statutory authorization. Like the individual mandate, the employer decree is central to ObamaCare’s claim of universal coverage, but employers said the new labor costs—and the onerous reporting and tax-enforcement rules—would damage job creation and the economy.
By now ObamaCare’s proliferating delays, exemptions and administrative retrofits are too numerous to count, most of them of dubious legality. The text of the Affordable Care Act specifically says when the mandate must take effect—”after December 31, 2013″—and does not give the White House the authority to change the terms.
Changing an unambiguous statutory mandate requires the approval of Congress, but then this President has often decided the law is whatever he says it is.
Every time he unilaterally changes a law he breaks one… and the republicans sit on their hands. Oh, they might harumph a little… but where is the outrage? Complacency, especially amongst those we’ve elected to represent us in D.C., is very dangerous.
The problem is, we the people are complacent. Maybe when the unemployment rate hits 50% more will wake up?

Once again acting without Congress, President Obama has unilaterally changed his signature health insurance law, delaying its employer mandate – the second time he’s done this — to 2016, after the mid-term elections.
BUT: To be eligible for the additional delay, the Obama administration says an employer “may not reduce the size of its workforce or the overall hours of service of its employees” unless it can justify those reductions to the Internal Revenue Service.
The Affordable Care Act, as passed by Congress, says companies with more than 50 full-time-equivalent employees must provide “minimum essential coverage” starting on Jan. 1, 2014 or pay a fine.
On Monday, the administration issued new regulations saying that employers with 50 to 99 workers don’t need to provide minimum essential coverage until 2016 – two years beyond what’s written in the law.
And large employers (those with 100 or more workers) must provide coverage to only 70 percent of their workers in 2015.
But the regulations also say that effective yesterday, employers may not shed employees or work hours just to get below the 100-employee threshold – and thus avoid Obamacare’s penalties for another full year.
One scholar called the latest changes “Orwellian.”
