However, her goals may not coincide with theirs…

Showbusiness is a fickle world.
One minute you are hanging out with the stars and the next you are homeless.
That has been the fate of poor Berry, a ten-year-old German Shepherd who shot to fame in Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Azkaban.
The black dog starred alongside Harry Potter actor Daniel Radcliffe as the animal form of wizard Sirius Black, played by Gary Oldman.
However his owner stuntman Paul Thompson can no longer look after him because his job means he has to spend large amounts of time away from home.
So Berry and his friend Porridge, a 13-year-old German Shepherd, are now being fostered by East Sussex couple Les and Christine Newman through the charity German Shepherd Dog Rescue.
Porridge is also used to being in front of the cameras, after starring in The Bill and the TV adaptation of White Teeth.
Mrs Newman said: “They are amazing dogs. They love people, they love other dogs, they get on with cats and they love children.
“They are really good dogs and would fit in with almost any family. Obviously because they are quite elderly they would probably be suited to a quieter home.
“They like each other a lot and in the morning Porridge will wash Berry’s face.”
Mrs Newman said most people are not aware of Berry’s film-star past.
She said: “We don’t really tell many people but everyone loves them.
“They are very well behaved because they have been trained to a high standard.
“They are just adorable. They want to be loved and taken out for short walks and be comfortable in their retirement.
“Anyone who meets them will want them.”
Anyone who thinks they could give Berry and Porridge a home should visit www.germanshepherdrescue.co.uk.

Anybody who knows me should already be aware of what I think about this…
EDITED to add: This is the direct link to the German Shepherd Dog Rescue that is caring for Berry and Porridge. I’m sure they’re in the process of vetting potential adopters!

Well, that was fun...

...I just didn't know it would taste that bad.

Bree has lost little moxie with age and certainly none of her acrobatic skill. Took her out last night at dusk to play; a storm making its way in gave us that extra urgent thrill.
The photos are rubbish in pretty much every way – but at least we can tell it’s Bree… what can’t be conveyed are the pretty pirouettes she accomplished to catch the ball…

Like an ugly paperweight, I keep moving that lawn mower around the back yard, but it just doesn’t look right anywhere. Bet it would look superb in the garage…

Daisy Maisy Dixie Grace turns four today and so we dance in celebration while she chows down on her favorite foods – pupperoni, eggs, raw chicken necks and fat little chameleons.
She’s come a long way from the frightened little dog who would take chunks out of Mike every chance she got… well… she still does that from time to time, but it’s better. Really. It’s just taking a very long time to convince her that he’s an okay guy.
Baby steps.
She’s not really bonded to either Mike or myself, but rather to Breagha. Bree is her north star and that’s fine. We don’t try to change her mind about much of anything anymore, preferring to let her be the funny little girl she wants to be and just enjoying that dog.
So happy birthday, you hairy little enigma. 8-}

I love this image despite its deplorable quality. Knowing there were scant seconds to capture the scene, I grabbed the nearest camera, set on auto.

They’re beautiful and funny and noble and silly and humble and they make my life better.
Kinda like my husband.
Heh… don’t tell him I said that…

Don't blow smoke up my fuzzy wet butt. I distinctly heard the word cookie.
Yeah, well. We all deal with disappointment in life. And I never promised she could have a cookie while bathing. This isn’t Versailles and she’s not a pampered concubine, fer goodness sakes.
