Sign at the vet’s office:
“Don’t let your dogs near the cold-killed iguanas… they may contain botulism.”

Cell phone pic, of course.
Daisy and I just returned from the vet, where she had her yearly physical and poking. She didn’t even try to bite anyone!

Another rainy day, another episode of Bree, Dog on the Edge.

OMG! Was that a raindrop?!

It’s a dark, rainy day and the natives are restless. Or simply miserable, like Bree here. Can’t tell you why I like this picture; she’s obviously not at one with nature and is contemplating embarrassing her entire breed by darting back into the house rather than get her feet wet.

I did manage to find a bug on a leaf and some new growth before the rain started up again.

How and why dogs will not ‘go’ on damp ground eludes me. I understand that the smells are different, but it’s grass. Just do it.

We were outside playing ball when I noticed blood on Bree’s right rear paw. Brought her in right away and washed it with soap and water. The pictures are right after the foot bath and before the neosporin.
You can’t really tell that anything is amiss here:

This is a better picture of what might be wrong….

Even though this one shows the extent of the damage, I don’t know what happened or why.

She’s been licking between those two toes for the past week and I did take a look once or twice, but saw nothing wrong. If I had to make a guess… a lick granuloma? Never seen one like this, around the dog’s nail bed – or one that bleeds. She could have hurt the ‘finger’ and been trying to soothe it with licks… and they caused the raw areas. No wonder she didn’t seem to want to walk very far! (Don’t worry, I didn’t make her!)
If it’s not better by Monday I’ll take her to the vet.

She looks a bit rough around the edges, but it’s all very soft and touchable… just don’t bother her while she’s asleep…
