Knowing nothing else about him, we threw ourselves against the logic of Dr. Ben Carson like it was a down comforter blocking an icy wind. Except one issue never makes a man. Or a politician, for that matter.
Dr. Carson may have a logical mind and an aptitude for spotting bullshit, but he’s also in possession of some ideas that would bar him access to office of president… if we have anything to say about it.

Asked by Beck for his thoughts on the Second Amendment, Carson gave the popular pro-gun argument: “There’s a reason for the Second Amendment; people do have the right to have weapons.”
But when asked whether people should be allowed to own “semi-automatic weapons,” the doctor replied: “It depends on where you live.”
“I think if you live in the midst of a lot of people, and I’m afraid that that semi-automatic weapon is going to fall into the hands of a crazy person, I would rather you not have it,” Carson elaborated.
However, if you live “out in the country somewhere by yourself” and want to own a semi-automatic weapon, he added, “I’ve no problem with that.”
Could he be mistaking semi-automatic for fully automatic? He’s not a person I would normally accuse of being ill-informed…

The Doc is simply another example of a city person. he agrees with us for the most part but is completely ignorant about firearms, as ignorant about those as I am about medicine.I don’t want him to have power over my firearms as he does not want me to have power over his medicine.
And as long as he says “I would rather you not have” instead of “you can not”, I can live with that.
Heck, I would rather most folks buying the AR15 platform rifles buy other weapons, too.It’s my opinion that most folks would be better served by a pistol-cartridge carbine in the same caliber as their primary defense handgun with a deer rifle for those times when they might want to reach out and touch someone.
That’s my opinion, so, are you going to give up on me? So, don’t give up on Dr. Carson, just remember, there was only one savior, we’re getting ready to mark his death and resurrection at the end of this month. We probably aren’t going to get another savior, instead we’re going to have to fight it out in elections, city, county, state and congressional districts, the Senate and, finally the White House. But it starts with local.
