Between Rand Paul’s Stand yesterday over the president’s seemingly unlimited drone strike abilities and the Senate Judiciary committee “working on the Assault Weapon Ban” this morning, it’s getting a lot of play in this house.
I don’t have anything new to add to Rand’s 13 hour Stand. He was spectacular and exciting and made me proud to be an American.
Dianne Feinstein is an idiot and it’s difficult to listen to her speak about making over 2,000 different weapons illegal. What about knives, you useless bitch? Baseball bats? Golf clubs?
Anyway.
The Republican Senators standing with Rand:
Ted Cruz (R-Texas)
Marco Rubio (R-Fla.)
Mike Lee (R-Utah)
Pat Toomey (R-Penn.)
John Thune (R-S.D.)
John Barrasso (R-Wy.)
Tim Scott (R-S.C.)
John Cornyn (R-Texas)
Jerry Moran (R-Kan.)
Ron Johnson (R-Wis.)
Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.)
Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.)
Saxby Chambliss (R-Ga.).
33 Republican Senators were busy elsewhere… having dinner with obama.
The Democrat Senators standing with Rand:
Ron Wyden (D-Ore.)
Awesome.
UPDATE:
Rand wins! Eric Holder responded “NO”.
Attorney General Eric Holder wrote Sen. Rand Paul,R-Ky., to confirm that President Obama does not have the authority to kill an American on U.S. soil in a non-combat situation, Obama’s spokesman announced today.
White House Press Secretary Jay Carney quoted from the letter that Holder sent to Paul today. “Does the president have the authority to use a weaponized drone to kill an American not engaged in combat on an American soil?” Holder wrote, per Carney. “The answer is no.”
Paul said that was good enough for him. “I’m quite happy with the answer,” he said during a CNN interview. “I’m disappointed it took a month and a half and a root canal to get it, but we did get the answer.”

Still trending on top at twitter –

Why don’t we depose the dictator and install Rand?
Time to show Graham and McCain the door – Graham first, runs in the next election. Hope the Tea Party and Freedom Works are on the hunt for a good candidate- let’s primary Graham’s ass out of there! One more reason the GOP will not see a dime from me – but Freedom Works will.
That works for me! Congress should not be a lifetime job, but a brief honor…

And the ones that went to dinner need to go also – they just showed how cheap they can be bought off
They all need to go after 2 terms, that’s it. Term limits, no matter who they are.
Several who went to the dinner showed up for Rand too – some of them both before and after the dinner.
Yes, they did and kudos to those good people!
I told him it was already scheduled… the dinner was not a big deal…
Both my Senators stood with Rand. I suspect Ted Cruz and Rand Paul will be a pair of thorns in the heel of the left for a while. and I’m including that crook McCain in the left.
One of my Senators stood with Rand; Marco Rubio.
I like Ted Cruz very much and I hope you’re right…
Rubio will be a thorn in their other heel.
As long as he stays away from bottled water.
I hope so. Not too thrilled with him and his ‘gang of eight’ right now, though…
Think this is Rand’s prelude to 2016?
I believe so. Which is not bad, but as he thinks along the same lines as his dad on many things, he’s going to have an uphill battle, even with me.
If he can distance himself from some of the batshit crazy ideas of his dad, I might be willing to give him a second look.
I really hope he does… because if not, he won’t have a chance in hell..
Maybe we’ll get Larry Elder back on board.
Just sayin’.
