In my quest to learn more about art, I ran across the Irish impressionist Walter Osborne and this painting. I like it because the chickens are so very real.

I love his work
Oh, I like his work! Some of them are very fairy tale-ish, like the kitchen and dining scenes; if there were a couple little pocket dragons perched on the table they’d fit right in!
I have a book of his art – I could climb right in.
Oh, I believe it!
Puck, Puck, Paaawwk! My neighbor on my side of the street (the one that isn’t Patsy) has a rooster and at least one hen. They sometimes work their way over to our front yard and Bingo T. Pug thinks it’s his sworn duty to chase them back to their coop.
Bingo T. Pug is so fierce!
I’m sure the feathered interlopers are no match for a fierce Pug like Bingo T Pug!!

Oooh! I didn’t know about Osborne, but I’m now a fan. You’re right, the chickens are so real! And that girl is adorable.
I don’t have an artistic bone in my old body, but it seems a good place to go, if you know what I mean.
Recognizing the names of famous painters, I’m seeking out the unknown… at least to me.
Patti, believe it or not, my mom has a print of Larsson’s Esbjorn in her painting room. First time I ever saw it, I fell in love with the painting.
