“No ma’am”

On the Awesome scale this comes in a solid 10.

A Marine’s letter to Senator Feinstein:

Senator Dianne Feinstein,

I will not register my weapons should this bill be passed, as I do not believe it is the government’s right to know what I own. Nor do I think it prudent to tell you what I own so that it may be taken from me by a group of people who enjoy armed protection yet decry me having the same a crime. You ma’am have overstepped a line that is not your domain. I am a Marine Corps Veteran of 8 years, and I will not have some woman who proclaims the evil of an inanimate object, yet carries one, tell me I may not have one.

I am not your subject. I am the man who keeps you free. I am not your servant. I am the person whom you serve. I am not your peasant. I am the flesh and blood of America.

I am the man who fought for my country. I am the man who learned. I am an American. You will not tell me that I must register my semi-automatic AR-15 because of the actions of some evil man.

I will not be disarmed to suit the fear that has been established by the media and your misinformation campaign against the American public.

We, the people, deserve better than you.

Respectfully Submitted,
Joshua Boston
Cpl, United States Marine Corps

joshdb50 was a Marine and was deployed to Afghanistan between the years of 2004 through 2005. Although he is no longer in the military he acknowledges that he owns gun. He says he does not believe the government needs to know what guns he owns because he believes registration would lead to confiscation. He says the laws that are in place for gun control are plenty, and adding more laws will remove a means of defense for people. ‘I own the guns I own because I acknowledge mankind’s shortcomings instead of pretending like they don’t exist. There are evil men in this world and there just may be a time when I need to do the unthinkable to protect me or my family,’ he said.

The only way to take the guns of a large percentage of legal gun owners and all of the illegal ones is through armed force. There are not enough police willing to do this, leaving the military the only force able to force Americans to disarm. How many combat troops are willing to attack their own families?

Agreed. The gov’t would be hard pressed to find a sizeable military force of Americans who would be willing to make war on their own people. I believe there would be far more military personnel willing to walk away, if not take up arms AGAINST those who would give such an order. There could conceivably be a second Civil War if the gun grabbers tried to push that far. http://pamibe.com/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/bud.gifhttp://pamibe.com/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/guns.gifhttp://pamibe.com/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/hitsthefan.gif

I do not disagree with this in any way. However, shouldn’t his statement, “as I do not believe it is the government’s right to know what I own” then apply to our homes, vehicles, etc.? I’m just splitting hairs because I can.

As far as I know, the government is not advocating taking our cars or homes. As for weapons, any weapons purchased through an FFL have the DOJ’s seal of approval and a fat file to go with them. Any NOT purchased that way makes a gun owner a criminal, and, just as the gang banger down the street, what the hell does new legislation do to stop that? NOTHING.

Yes, if I buy someone’s gun at a show from a private citizen and not a licensed dealer who calls the government to see if I can own a gun, then I’ve broken the law.

And that’s bullshit. Does the government want to know about, regulate and license every baseball bat, knife, etc…?

Good news! I saw the vascular surgeon today. It turns out that either the nurse mis-spoke or Linda Lou misheard, the leg that got all messed up in ’67 is fine. It’s the other leg that has about a 90% blockage. That can be fixed with a simple day-surgery type procedure of putting some little widget in and sort of propping open the artery. So, barring terrible luck I go in on the morning of the 29th and go home that evening. Assuming, of course, no complications. So, doesn’t look as if I’ll have a peg leg for International Talk Like A Pirate Day.http://pamibe.com/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/pirate.gifhttp://pamibe.com/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/bud.gifhttp://pamibe.com/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/smiley-plane.gif
