A palate cleanser of sorts. After the week we’ve had… vacations, even short mental ones, are encouraged.
Mike and his two friends flew from Ft. Lauderdale to Marathon and back… here is some scenery along the way.

The Ocean Reef Club

When I was a girl we went to Marathon every summer so my parents could dive. Many adventures were had.
Last time I was there was – hmmmm – 35 – 36 years ago? I’m betting it is a bit different there now.
Haven’t been there in awhile myself… Arthur’s dove all over the Keys… I’ve snorkeled some.
I dove a little. Got my YMCA certification when I was maybe 13? Daddy was an instructor – actually, he was an instructor instructor – dive master and all that jazz
Arthur was going to teach me, but my ears were too messed up. I enjoyed snorkeling, though.
Patti – all is the same except for the damage on Molasses Reef after the freighter ran aground there – If I am not mistaken, when you dove there, the dive shops had opened on the keys yet and you had to get your air from Austin’s up in Perrine – I think there were only two shops in the early 80’s – I started diving there in 67
I have no idea where Daddy was getting his air. I’m thinking maybe Largo? but don’t know – my diving was in the mid to late 70s. Maybe I’m not wanting to REALLY do the math
WTF, you couldn’t go a little further and come visit us???
That would have been an extra $150!
Oh! Well maybe sometime soon!
He said: “Also, I was not the pilot in charge. No decision-making!”
And next time, bring Pam!!!
Yeah, as if he could get me in one of those tiny things…
The drive here is worse, trust me!
I love the coast, I love the mountains and I especially love the desert. So, here I am, far from all of them. Life is funny like that.
Ain’t it though???
Pam, I’ll go with you and hold your hand the entire way!
Okay, come on over!
Let me get my dad back on his feet and you’re on!
