Alabama utility workers specifically called to help after Sandy were told to go elsewhere after showing up in Jew Jersey… because they’re NON UNION.

The Dynamic Duo?
[typography font="Ubuntu Condensed" size="24" size_format="px"]‘No Red Tape’? New Jersey Turns Away Non-union Relief Crews[/typography]
How desperate is hurricane-ravaged New Jersey? Not desperate enough to suspend a union monopoly that keeps the state in the bottom ten states for economic competitiveness (and #48 for business friendliness). Relief crews from Alabama who were specifically called to New Jersey found themselves diverted to Long Island, NY after they arrived because they use non-union labor. Alabama is a right-to-work state.
WAFF-TV of Hunstville, AL reports:
Crews from Huntsville, as well as Decatur Utilities and Joe Wheeler out of Trinity headed up there this week, but Derrick Moore, one of the Decatur workers, said they were told by crews in New Jersey that they can’t do any work there since they’re not union employees….
Understandably, Moore said they’re frustrated being told “thanks, but no thanks.”
With so much at stake–and lives still in danger–it would seem logical to tell special interests to step aside.
There are photos of the devastation with the story… but I’m not posting them. Also not blogging directly about the aftermath of the storm. Been there, done that. Just glancing at the images makes anxiety build in my chest…
You and I both know what to do; pray and donate. Nobody needs to tell us, we just do it. And I don’t have to look at the images to know what they’re going through.
That said, this union stuff is ridiculous. They couldn’t usher their brothers-in-arms over the state line with glad hearts? Oh, hell no. The union rules like petty dictators.
How disgusting.

Can you freaking believe it?!
As always – the O is an empty chair
and I’m not sure what to make of Christy – but right now I’m not feeling very favorably. Of course – though he can be entertainingly bombastic at times – I’ve never really trusted Christy. Sorry Ann Colter – sometimes you are wrong…
I think the union turning away non union help is a perfect illustration of where “progressiveim” or liberalism or whatever you want to call the communist socialist illness that has this country in its grasp is leading us.
We all need to be on our knees until Tues morning – then we need to rise up and VOTE!
So far Beck’s charity arm, Mercury One, has raised $704,000 which is going 100% to local church groups to serve Sandy survivors.
Unfortunately, I can believe it… this is what we’ve come to. And Christy? Never, ever liked him. A RINO in sheep’s clothing.
“…communist socialist illness that has this country in its grasp…”
That’s exactly what it is.
Kudos to Beck and his charity!!
I’d say screw them if they don’t want the help, but there are too many good people in NJ suffering right now. I wonder how they feel about the unions preventing them from getting help that they desperately need.
Fuck the people who would stoop this low. Fuck them to death.

They’re now saying that they did not turn the Alamaba workers away but the ‘Bama guys are sticking to their story. I believe them.
Human lives don’t matter when it’s their phoney baloney jobs at stake.
What are they afraid of, that Jersey becomes a right to work state? Idiots.
So we have a pelting of eggs, a turning away of workers because they wouldn’t sign the union forms and now everyone is getting free gas. WTF? Where was OUR free gas when we all got hit and had to wait in lines? I’ve decided the people in the NE, except for the people in Staten Island and the folks outside the big cities are a bunch of ingrates, a-holes, and whiners. I’ve never seen anything like this in my life.
It’s astounding. First, they all seem clueless, as if no one told them to expect bad weather. And second, their freak-outs are scary. I understand their pain -after Andrew was horrible- but shooting each other and screaming obscenities?
They’re pissed because they have to stand in line for gas? PLEASE! After Wilma we stood in line for four hours for 5 gallons… but everyone expected it and no one became irate. I guess that’s the money line, eh?
Team Rubicon is taking donations!
Awesome!!
