Observation will win the day.
GREENSBORO, N.C. –The Presidential election is just around the corner and voting issues have already become a problem in Guilford County.
On Monday, several voters complained that their electronic ballot machine cast the wrong vote. All the complaints were made by people who voted at the Bur-Mil Park polling location.
One of the voters, Sher Coromalis, says she cast her ballot for Governor Mitt Romney, but every time she entered her vote it defaulted to President Obama.
“I was so upset that this could happen,” said Coromalis.
Guilford County Board of Elections Director George Gilbert says the problem arises every election. It can be resolved after the machine is re-calibrated by poll workers.
“It’s not a conspiracy it’s just a machine that needs to be corrected,” Gilbert said.
After the third try, Coromalis says she was able to get her vote counted for Gov. Romney but was still annoyed.
“I should have just mailed it in,” Coromalis said.
Elections officials say the machines have been fixed as of Tuesday, and no problems have been reported since.
We vote with paper ballots and once they’re fed into the machine, all we see on the screen is “You have voted”. There is no double checking… but folks who vote on machines should stay alert.
They will try and steal this election any way they can. I like our paper ballots. Eliminates “computer errors”.
Lord, I hope you’re right about the paper ballots. Feel like I’m holding my breath, waiting for this election…
Heard a story on the news yesterday about a bunch of Dems (can’t remember which state – does it really matter? they do it everywhere) throwing out paper absentee ballots that were for “the other guy” then saying well they just thought that was what everyone does. In other words, they cheat with paper ballots too.
and no this isn’t just some story being passed around – the guys were actually indited and admitted to the deed.
I personally dislike early voting – way too much time for the votes to be monkeyed with.
Plus I just like the feeling of participating on THE day.
My belly knots get tighter and tighter these days on this election…
And NC! jeeze, grand, just grand, so how many voters had their vote switched and just didn’t notice? how many elderly just had their vote switched? early voting here is so heavy they are already (just started a few days ago) looking at measures to reduce lines.
I’m holding my breath. Yup, already said that. But stuff like this, while expected, is freaking me out a bit. Do we have enough votes to overcome the subterfuge?
That’s always the question – and don’t even get me started on the military absentee ballots. Especially in Florida, NC, and Virginia.
Turn out – it is always about turn out. We outnumber them nearly 2 to 1 if people would just VOTE! No way they could cheat their way out of those numbers.
Exactly! And yes, the military absentee ballots are…enraging. To say the least…
Well, my Election Judge is our Republican Precinct Shairwoman so I can trust my precinct. What do you want to bet the Precincts having this sort of trouble have Dems as Election Judges? I miss being an Election Judge. I’d always make Linda Lou rise when I walked into the room.

Wonder how this tracks with the story that Romney Jr (can’t remember the kid’s name) is “purchasing and supplying” electronic voting machines for key states… I swear to God, I can’t wait until this election is over. The media is going overboard reporting rumors this time around.
