Arthur made me a gift of a small leather box he’s had for many years. I was delighted, because it had always fascinated me… but I hadn’t taken a good look at the thing until today. The top says Voigtländer, the bottom Germany 90/083 and the snap PRYM 2 ECHT.
The box held a viewfinder for a 1950s/60s era Voigtländer camera, possibly the Vitessa.
‘Prym 2 echt’ means ‘authentic Prym’. The William Prym GmbH & Co. is the oldest family business in Germany, going back to 1530. They do business world wide and still manufacture brass and copper materials.

In today’s throw-away world the craftsmanship of such a case is deeply appreciated.

cool!
i accidentally deleted all our christmas pics from 2011 today *frowny emote here*
Noooooo!!!!! Please tell me you had them backed up…!
no :(
They were the ones on the hub’s camera. I have no idea why the computer decided to randomly delete a whole section of pictures from that card.
I have a bunch of really good leather holsters for my revolvers and only one of those soft plastic pocket holsters for when I do not want to wear anything big enough to conceal the little ones. Other than the leather gun gear’s natural enemy, the lefty politico, that gear will go to my yet unborn great grandchildren.
I do wonder what they will do with revolvers and rifles that are direct copies of late 19th Century weaponry in the age of Phasers. Ah well, they’ll be carrying them in handmade leather while the Phasers are in some kind of plasticl
Arthur has leather holsters that look as good as the day they were purchased, 30 years ago. Give me leather over plastic any day!
Patti – I have software that can get those pic’s back – Easy Recovery Pro
mayby not – I spoke before I read the rest – but if you do not rewrite over that flash card I still have a good chance to recover – I recovered 56GB off a drive that was re-partitioned, formatted and windows re-installed – there was only one program I could not recover -
