Independence

I usually post a big flag, a quote or two… but not this year.

Sure, I love the USA. Grateful to be born here and even more appreciative of the ability to remain… still… there are two overriding emotions clouding my enjoyment of this holiday in particular: anger and sadness.

I’m incensed with people who don’t care enough to educate themselves on the issues and vote. And those who do vote but believe everything the mainstream media (a.k.a. The Barack SuperPac) tells them just make me crazy sad.

Though the two groups are not the whole of our country, they certainly drag us down. One might even posit that these folks are the reason why we’re all on the fast lane to hell in a little leftist hand basket.

My plea to them today would be: please remove your head from your own ass and become informed! Act like you’re a citizen of the greatest country in the world instead of your own private island or we’ll never recover and once again fulfill the founder’s dreams of actually being the greatest country. People of other countries dream of independence… while we fritter it away.

I now return you to your previously scheduled barbecue/beach/pool duties. Hope you enjoy your day off.

    Happy Independence Day. We should draft a list of grievances like the patriots did and send it to King Obama…I mean President Obama.

      Good idea! I would say just print out a copy of the Constitution and send that, but we all know how he feels about the “antiquated document” that “needs updating”.

    We need patriots like you leading these dimbulbs out of the fog… hopefully while we still have elections in this country
