Badger behaves as if she is about to be anally probed with a hot poker. Which is why I don’t do it myself…

Well, at least I’ve been doing it since they were babies. I flip them on their backs and pin them on my outstretched legs and use a dremel. Gus screams like a banshee if he THINKS I might hurt him. In his five and a half years of life I have drawn a tiny spot of blood exactly once…
Then as soon as I’m done he flips over and jumps in my lap to kiss me all over the face – I think he is apologizing for being a total whimp.

I’m the total wimp. I can do everything else, just not nails… which is why they are ALL in desperate need of trimming. I need to set up a monthly at a local ‘spa’…

Winston is only four months old and I have trimmed his nails three times and had the vet do it once. All of my German Shepherd puppies have resisted at some point, we battle, I win and then there’s no problem from that point forward. When I trimmed Winston last he still fought (and screamed) like a wildcat and then held a grudge for most of the day. He actually ran from me when I approached him later. Fortunately, all was forgiven by the next day. What a stubborn little cuss.

      I applaud your tenacity!

Badger does the screaming, wildcat act and for some reason I can’t get past it. Better to let the professionals handle it…

      I know, what a cop-out.

She needs sumpin to chase! Bingo T. Pug is easy to trim, CAP is um, difficult. I have to lay on the carpet with her and trim while I kinda cuddle her. And it costs a lot of doggie treats, too.

Had to get dogs. Couldn’t get an Anaconda, trained to choke Democrats, no, I had to get dogs.

I can just see you, cajoling that German Shepherd into letting you trim her nails… on the floor…
