WWGD?

At the former president’s portrait unveiling at the White House yesterday, George W. Bush remarked that when obama found himself wrestling with tough problems he could gaze at the portrait and ask “what would George do?”

The news outlets have all made a big deal out of the ‘civility’ of the unveiling ceremony… yet president obama got in a dig when he said “We wouldn’t know until later just how breathtaking the financial crisis had been”.

WWGD? Well, he wouldn’t do that. In 2004 when he welcomed the clintons for their unveiling, he greeted them with “President Clinton and Sen. Clinton, welcome home”. His further remarks:

“Bill Clinton could always see a better day ahead, and Americans knew he was working hard to bring that day closer. Over eight years, it was clear that Bill Clinton loved the job of the presidency. He filled this house with energy and joy.”

WWGD? Well, he wasn’t perfect, but he wouldn’t be an asshole to a former president. George and Laura Bush have a kind of class that folks like obama can’t begin to understand, let alone possess.
