Rick Perry and Newt Gingrich didn’t qualify for inclusion on the Virginia ballot but Mitt Romney and RON PAUL did? Really? How exactly does that work, smurf vote or something? Ron Paul is a nasty, fear mongering little weasel who has said publicly that we are to blame for provoking the 9/11 attacks and privately thinks that 9/11 was an inside job. That Dr. Martin Luther King was pretty damn uppity and the day we celebrate Dr. King’s life is “Hate Whitey Day”.
Paul has published a conspiracy-toned newsletter selling his own opinions on everything from ‘New Money’ to the upcoming ‘Race Wars’ and the ‘government’s homosexual AIDS coverup’ for many years… A snippet:

On the evening of Sept. 16, 2009, I was invited to a function for Rand Paul’s U.S. Senate campaign at the headquarters of Americans for Tax Reform.
I had been invited by a friend of mine via Facebook who was a passionate supporter of Ron Paul. Within minutes of arriving, I saw Rep. Paul enter the room, followed by an entourage of several college students.
I immediately walked up to Paul and introduced myself, and Paul smiled at me and shook my hand. I told him that I had always wanted to ask him a question, and that it was a hypothetical question, but I would appreciate his answer nonetheless. Paul smiled, and welcomed the question. At this point there were about 15 people surrounding us, listening.
And so I asked Congressman Paul: if he were President of the United States during World War II, and as president he knew what we now know about the Holocaust, but the Third Reich presented no threat to the U.S., would he have sent American troops to Nazi Germany purely as a moral imperative to save the Jews?
And the Congressman answered:
“No, I wouldn’t. I wouldn’t risk American lives to do that. If someone wants to do that on their own because they want to do that, well, that’s fine, but I wouldn’t do that.”

In 2007, the Congressman actually faulted Abraham Lincoln for using military force to end slavery in the Civil War: “He shouldn’t have gone to war… Slavery was phased out in every other country in the world and the way I’m advising that it should have been done is do like the British Empire did; you buy the slaves and release them.”
The man is an extreme isolationist but that’s only the tip of his perverted iceberg of a world view…

You forgot to mention – the fuckstain wants nothing less than the abolishment of Israel, that the land be returned to the Palestinians. According to a former aide, “Paul’s view, he said, “is that Israel is more trouble than it is worth, specifically to the America taxpayer. He sides with the Palestinians, and supports their calls for the abolishment of the Jewish state, and the return of Israel, all of it, to the Arabs.”

Ron Paul has no chance of becoming President. However, he does have an excellent chance of screwing up the ballots enough to guarantee that Obama gets elected to a second term.

There are enough Paulbots to make sure that any state requirements for signatures is easily satisfied. Paulbots are the right’s version of Obamatoids.
Meanwhile the Perry and Gingrich camps are full of political operatives who couldn’t pour piss out of a boot with instructions printed on the heel. All of the skilled operators were already in the Romney campaign. Plus, of course, Richmond, VA is right there, less than a half day drive from Washington, meaning the national Republicans has the RCVA in their pockets, hell, half of the RNC lives in northern VA.
Paul will do damned little in the general election, he simply doesn’t have much for the average voter. The Paulbots won’t have much, either. They’ll just sit home, sulking.
The trouble will come if Romney wins the nomination. There are tons of Tea Party people who will hold their noses and vote for him, what they will not do is walk precincts, work phone banks and do all that other grunt work that makes for a winning campaign,
The national Republicans don’t seem to care about that, they’re more interested in control of the Party than the future of the country. I contend that the conventional wisdom is wrong (again). The conventional wisdom chose Bob Dole, said he had the best chance of beating Clinton, after the ’94 election was such a disaster for him and his party.
Hell, the conventional wisdom chose Kerry to beat GWB. And thenthe conventional wisdom chose Hilary! over Obama and McCain over everyone else.
Someday we should hang all of the conventional wisdom types. There is something about piss and boots, I can’t remember who said it.

What Romney ought to do is demand the others be included so it’s a fair fight. If he were a man of integrity, he’d try to make it happen.
