Gun store bans liberals, muslims

2nd Amendment, Business

Mason, Texas concealed weapons instructor Crockett Keller ran a controversial radio ad for his class, in which he stated that liberals and muslims are not welcome.

“We will attempt to teach you all the necessary information you need to obtain your [Concealed Handgun License]… If you are a socialist liberal and/or voted for the current campaigner in chief, please do not take this class. You have already proven that you cannot make a knowledgeable and prudent decision under the law.
If you are a non-Christian Arab or Muslim, I will not teach you the class with no shame; I am Crockett Keller, thank you, and God bless America.”

Texas DPS immediately began an investigation and released the statement:
“Conduct by an instructor that denied service to individuals on the basis of race, ethnicity or religion would place that instructor’s certification by the Department at risk of suspension or revocation.”

Keller is unfazed by the government investigation, saying he’ll stop teaching if forced to include people who he feels are a danger to himself or this country:

Keller, 65, has said in media interviews that he just regards the message is just common sense. “The fact is, if you are a devout Muslim, then you cannot be a true American,” he told local news station KVUE, while fielding calls congratulating him for his stance. “Why should I arm these people to kill me? That’s suicide.”

“I call it exercising my right to choose who I instruct in how to use a dangerous weapon,” he added.

If someone walked into the store and asked to take the class who was… sort of twitchy… Crockett could turn them down, or no? Does he have rights in this case or is he required to teach all comers, regardless? Not giving an experienced instructor any leeway in who he teaches is troubling… and frankly, frightening.

Good for him. I hope he doesn’t lose his license over this. If he does, maybe he can become a flight instructor and train Muslims to fly commercial airliners into tall buildings. Our government is twisted.

  2. Mrs. Who Says:

Has he been a member of the military? If so, he could also so he’s honoring his oath to protect America from all enemies, foreign and domestic. After all, look how the flight instructors were used by the 9-11 terrorists.

We have a culture of cowards in government. They are so afraid the Arabs will stop selling oil to the west that they’re afraid to name the enemy. And that was back when Obambi was a state senator. Today most of the government is on the other side.

It’s got all the way down to many state and local law enforcement, thanks to the feds sticking their noses and our money everywhere they have no constitutional right or duty to stick said noses. There is a very good reason why the Framers gave the federal government almost no law enforcement powers.

The country really started to go to Hell in a handcart with the Wilson Administration and each Democrat Administration has accelerated the decline. Each Republican Administration has either continued the decline, albeit more slowly, or only gained a very little ground back. And we don’t have much more ground we can afford to lose. Sigh.

Bottom line: it’s a business. HIS business. He has the right to refuse service to anyone, for any reason. People may disagree with his reasoning for refusing to do business with someone or a class of individuals, and it is their right to do business somewhere else. It is their right to protest. It is their right to boycott. But it’s NOT their right, or the gov’t's right, to force him to do business with anyone.

age 65 – very good chance he is a Vietnam Vet Mrs Who, only the hippy draft dodgers did not serve back then, like Clinton

  6. Erinyes Says:

But it’s NOT their right, or the gov’t’s right, to force him to do business with anyone.

Actually, it is, clearly. But if he’s willing to put his license on the line to have the courage of his convictions, I say good for him!

  7. Folly Says:

I agree with him in spirit but the law forbids discrimination based on religion. However, I don’t think Liberals are a protected class so they’re screwed.

  8. Peter Says:

Actually it’s only the government that is forbidden to discriminate because of religion. Now a mess of liberal judges have confused their desires with the constitution and, there is our problem.

We’re supposed to have freedom of assembly. That should mean that we have the right to NOT assemble. No liberal or Muslim is being denied the right to buy a gun. Nor are they being denied the right to gun training. Gun stores and CHL trainers are thicker than thieves down here in Texas. (And we have a LOT of thieves)

Just like the answer to segregated lunch counters was not government intervention, it should have been new lunch counters. Choosing to not do business with someone on the basis of politics or religion can be a damned poor business decision. Poor, or good business decisions should be the realm of the business owner, his creditors and family. And stockholdres, if any., not the damned government.

    • Folly Says:

Actually, the government forbids private employers from discriminating so it doesn’t just apply to the government.

    • Erinyes Says:

His licensing is from the government. He can choose not to sell guns to anyone he damn pleases, but he CANNOT refuse to instruct in concealed carry based SIMPLY on race or religion.

You may not agree with it or like it, but if the shoe was on the other foot, you’d be squawking bloody murder about YOUR rights being violated as a Christian and an American. You know it and I know it.

  9. Reaganite Republican Says:

I love this guy- he’s already done more to protect US citizens than Obama has in three years

  10. Markus Good Says:

This is hilarious I’m glad this guy is “protecting America.:

  11. Erinyes Says:

I doubt Markus has the courage of ANY convictions, unlike the gun store owner he mocks.
