Sorry to hear it…I hope he’s okay. This reminds me of the Oakland hills fire in California back when.
I’d be bulldozing every single solitary piece of vegetation within 500 yards of the house. Right down to bare dirt. If it requires anything less than volcanic lava to ignite, it goes. And set a sprinkler on the roof of the house.
They did that already. The drought’s so bad and everything’s so dry, the fire jumps despite their best efforts. :(
It took us about an hour to drive the nine and a half miles from Quinlan to the house Wednesday because there were two fires closing off the main roads from there to my little hovel a half mile from what should be the shore of Lake Tawakoni.
No rain. Livestock is dying all over down here, too. Sure hope everyone is boning up on vegetarian recipes. ‘Course the crops are dying or burning, too. Oh well, we’ll have plenty of dust. Got any recipes for that?

Yikes. I remember several years ago a lot of fires around Tulsa. One wasn’t too far from our house.
