A dog, ‘Leao’, sits for a second consecutive day, next to the grave of her owner, Cristina Maria Cesario Santana, who died in the week’s catastrophic landslides in Brazil, at the cemetery in Teresopolis, near Rio de Janiero, on January 15, 2011.

Sorta rips your heart out, doesn’t it? But this is why I like dogs…
Dogs are some of the best people I know.
What a powerful picture. Thank you for sharing it on your blog.
Wes and I saw this on the news last night and it brought tears to both of our eyes. Dogs are so loyal and the best friends. You need to read the children book called Hachiko Waits. I think that is how it is spelled. Addison read it and we both almost did not get through the last 2 chapters for crying so hard. You can also find the story on the internet it is a true story. :(
I saw something about Hachi (?) on the net yesterday, but there were no details… I’ll search for it, thanks!
Awwwww, poor puppy. :(
I believe Greyfriars Bobby is a similar tale. Disney made a movie out of it.
You have an award waiting for you on my blog. Hope that’s okay.
I love the story of Greyfriar’s Bobby! The movie is one of those classic Disney tales that you can watch again and again…
I’ll go collect my award, thanks! :hotflash:
Somebody bring a bowl of kibble and some water. That is so sad.
That dog can come live with us…
It’s too much, isn’t it? Hope someone takes him in…
I would love to take that dog home with me. I feel for it. death of a loved one is hard.
