I try to never take joy in other people’s misfortune… even if it’s self-inflicted. But this time karma and I will dance: CNN finally fired Rick Sanchez.
Was it because he went after Jon Stewart, or Jews in general? Maybe. I think it was just the last straw on a very old, much abused camel’s back. Rick has spewed some vile, hateful crap during his tenure with CNN, becoming worse every year. Yes, I am glad he’s lost his high profile bully pulpit.
This isn’t the first time in Sanchez’s four years at CNN that his comments have led to controversy or mockery. He once called President Obama a “cotton-picking president,” and has attributed unconfirmed quotes to Rush Limbaugh and misidentified the Galapagos Islands as Hawaii.
The most recent remarks came as Sanchez, who is Cuban American, was explaining how racism and prejudice had stunted his career. He said that a CNN executive once compared him to John Quinones of ABC’s “Primetime.”
“In his mind, I can’t be an anchor,” Sanchez told Dominick. “An anchor is what you give to high-profile white guys.”
Sanchez said the story illustrates that racism exists “not just [from] the right,” but also from “elite, Northeast establishment liberals” who condescend to him because he’s Latino.
“Deep down, when they look at a guy like me,” continued Sanchez, “they see a guy automatically who belongs in the second tier and not the top tier.”
After being challenged by the radio host, Sanchez backed off his use of the word “bigot,” and said Stewart was “prejudiced.” Sanchez said he was upset over Stewart’s frequent personal attacks on “The Daily Show,” noting that once the Comedy Central host called him “a total meathead.”
Note to Sanchez: We don’t want you back in south Florida. Remember the Andrew concert, where you were booed off the stage? Yeah, we haven’t forgotten you.

Because I stopped watching CNN long ago due to its right wing pro
Honduras coup and Zionist bias I really don’t know who Rick Sanchez
is.However I do know that Wolf Blitzer and CNN covered up and didn’t
report a $100,000,000 litigation against them in Florida by British
Israeli money launderer Michael Zwebner all because I was posting on a
penny stock message board called ragingbull.com about Zwebner’s
connections to then Israeli PM Ehud Olmert and Zwebner who used a
small part of his stock fraud against Americans to hire gay
prostitutes or indulge in harrassment litigation of his critics such
as myself.

Ijaz,Marc Ginsberg,etc.,etc.

journalistic investigation because CNN certainly won’t.Oh by the way
Lanny Davis who defended the Honduras’ coup leaders also defended the
mortgatage and stock fraud called Novastar that lied about its

You may have not have noticed that CNN is bigger than Sanchez,in fact they made him who he WAS and they decided to take it away and thus his few years of mediocre ‘fame’.If Wolf Bltzer and CNN had reported that British Israeli con artist and money launderer Michael Zwebner who theatened my life and hired gay prostitutes was suing them for $100 million in Florida in 2005 all because I was using an alias(and the only reason I used an alias many of them because the site wanted protect penny stock fraud which was and is their main business was because ragingbull.com a fraudulent penny stock promotion board run by the CIA out of Waltham Mas. for all I know),and that he was connected to Israeli PM Ehud Olmert who wrote a letter thanking him for bringing ‘business’ to Jerusalem then they would have been reporting real news.

I’m getting the feeling that Tony is just using every blog out there to paste his story so that it shows up prominently on Google searches.
Anyway, I remember not liking Sanchez when I lived in So. Florida, but it was mostly because of his style, which I attributed mostly to his being on a Fox station (the Fox anchors in Boston have the same style).
That said, I’ve heard his comment over and over – the one that got him fired – and I don’t see what led to his dismissal!
The bit about his being discriminated against is surprising, though. I’m Cuban-American and I’ve never felt discriminated against (only minimized one time in Alabama when my girlfriend’s father called me Ricky Ricardo). He’s been very successful at his career and, because he can’t get an anchor spot he thinks he’s discriminated?
I would tell him, “Rick, sometimes the reason people don’t like you have nothing to do with your race.”
And, “Jon Stewart is a comedian. You can’t give him the dignity of a reaction anymore than Sarah Palin and Oprah give Kathy Griffin a moment’s thought.”

Wellesley – you are absolutly correct again – Now to Tony, yes I am aware that CNN is larger than Rick, CNN became what it is because they were in the right place at the right time for Gulf War I – What you do not realize is Rick Sanchez started out down here in Miami at channel 7 News and changed our news format to blood & guts – he also had a DUI Hit & Run that cost a man his life – My boss’s son is serving five years because he had a couple drinks (was not drunk) and a girl ran in front of him in the middle of the night on an expressway during a fight with her boyfriend while her father sat in the car stopped in a driving lane watching – there is a curve were it happened and both boyfriend & father said there was nothing he could have done to prevent it – This innocent 22 year old kid gets five years and this jerk Rick gets a fine and community service – He is no longer getting a free ride – This is my interest with this mediocre jerk – It has been a long time, late 90’s since I have been to Ragingbull.com, and I was not aware it was a CIA front, but not surprised – your story is personal to you so it is a big deal to you – now to me it is nothing compared to the intentional stock market crash as Obama was being given the top job in my government – most of the so called news media has been part of an – you know what, screw this – I am not going to waste anymore time on this – Good luck and stay safe if you can

When I heard about this the other day, Pambie was the first person I thought of. I also danced “literally”. I cannot believe that CNN hired him to begin with. I am sure the family of that poor pedestrian in FL have also been dancing.
