Lesser of two evils?

Rick “let’s get to work” Scott won the Republican primary for governor of Florida last night.

I did not vote for him. I’d vowed ‘no career politicians’ this year but even flip-flopping career pol Bill McCollum looked better than Scott. But it’s like Russian roulette; you know you’re going to get screwed any way you play…

I didn’t vote for Scott for a number of reasons, including his obvious lying about Columbia/HCA’s fraud. I heard an interview in which he vehemently denied that he’d even been questioned about the matter. Add at least two robo-calls a day for weeks. Oh, and there were fliers in the mail every day as well. Big, glossy bitches that really didn’t say anything.

The best we can hope for with Scott is that he carries his money moxie over from the private sector. Floridians can use it; the market value of our house was just cut in half, according to the county tax assessor.

In order to continue his “rogue outsider” model he’s presenting to the public, he’ll have to continue to open his own wallet and not take money from the GOP or any outside sources as he steams forward with the November elections. That’s the only way he’ll make it…otherwise, he’ll be taking money from special interest groups hiding under the GOP (and Democratic) skirts that he’s rallying against the others for using.

And it came down to a lesser of two evils. Because I question what the motivation for this man is…to come out of nowhere in April, spend $50 Million dollars of his own money and then he gets it…then what? McCollum was dead in the water…from the neck up. He screwed the pooch with the whole Arizona law comment and then denying it, when they had him on tape. Hello, McFly? Anyone? Bueller? Seriously?

So it shall be interesting to say the very least. Can’t wait to work the polls in November! This is going to be fun!

Exactly! He’s very wealthy, owns businesses… don’t those keep him busy enough?

I’m at the point where I question ANYone who runs for public office. WHY? Ya know?

Which is why we desperately need a viable third party. As much as I hate the Dems, I don’t trust the Republicans to do the right thing anymore. Their public image isn’t much better and I fear them handing O-Hole and the Dems another victory by default in the elections due to their self-created negative image.

One step at a time. The new party is coming. I don’t know what will happen to the Democrats, they cannot keep running as center left and then governing like Reid-Pelosi.

The Republicans will eventually fail, just as the Whigs did. The angry Whigs left the Party, mainly over slavery, in, I believe, 1852. Then they became Republicans. By 1860 they’d won the White House. Unfortunately we know what happened in 1861.

Still, I expect the TEA Party will carve enough of a hunk out of the Republican, and conservative Democrats, to be viable within the next few election cycles. Then we shall see.
