Peachy Keen

Naval gazing

I’m convinced that freshly picked, tree ripened Georgia peaches are one of the many ways God shows his boundless love for us.

Walked past a bin of these in Publix this morning and their overwhelming smell drew me in for a closer look. They are gorgeous and make me glad to be alive.
Some days it’s just that simple.

    oooh pretty!

I like peaches but not the skin…fuzzy fruit is not my thing. But they do smell awesome.

There is a rather large peach orchard not too far from here, Texas, not Georgia. Still, I might drop by and get a half peck or so of them and look up a recipe for peach pie. I like pie.

Grocery shopping a couple weeks ago and the Necturines (bascially peaches without the fuzz) were so wonderful smelling that everyone walking into the store had to stop and buy some.

    They were very nummy also!

I love summer just for the fruit!

There were nectarines beside the peaches, but the peaches really got my attention… I need to plant more fruit trees… :D

Peaches ARE proof of God’s love. And they’re a little bit of summer for your mouth. I went looking for some the other day and couldn’t find any worth buying.

    I’m jealous.

P.S. Did you ever read my peach post?

Like I can remember? If it was anytime past about 30 minutes ago, I don’t know. Or, like so many I ‘can’t recall’. That’s a good ‘un.

Can’t find a fool proof peach pie recipe, though. They’re all different. :(

Might just have to make some peach clobber… er, cobbler.

  8. GaMongrel Says:

The3 nice thing about cobbler – you didn’t care how it looked (unlike a pie) you just needed a nice crust and all that sugary goodness underneath…
