Via Blackfive:
Flap flies in Haiti over U.S. flag absence
The many nations helping Haiti recover from the devastating earthquake that struck there have set up their own military compounds and fly their flags at the entrances.
France’s tricolor, Britain’s Union Jack and even Croatia’s coat of arms flap in the breeze.
But the country whose contributions dwarf the rest of the world’s — the United States — has no flag at its main installation near the Port-au-Prince airport.
The lack of the Stars and Stripes does not sit well with some veterans and servicemembers who say the U.S. government should be proud to fly the flag in Haiti, given the amount of money and manpower the U.S. is donating to help the country recover from the Jan. 12 quake.
The Obama administration says flying the flag could give Haiti the wrong idea.
“We are not here as an occupation force, but as an international partner committed to supporting the government of Haiti on the road to recovery,” the U.S. government’s Haiti Joint Information Center said in response to a query about the flag.….
Uncle Jimbo:
Shut your cake hole you pitiful little drone. The very idea that the US flag represents an occupying force is offensive. I am truly glad for your sake that you are hidden in an air-conditioned room somewhere while real Americans are out saving lives. The US flag is a beacon of freedom everywhere on Earth and always has been. We have freed more oppressed people, destroyed more tyrants and done more humanitarian work than any other country in history.
Gotta love that man!
This is just shameful. We’ll help pull your asses out of the fire… again. And again. And… but we must do it discreetly, so the citizenry doesn’t get the wrong idea.
GFY.

I think maybe it is time for all of us of like mind fly the flag again the way we did 9-12-10. Wouldn’t that be a beautiful way to say WE still love our country. What a way to demonstrate how many of US there are.

Our flag is also the most beautiful flag in the world – honestly.
Is bambi saying France, Britain, and Croatia are demonstrating that they are occupying forces by flying their flags? That is how I would take that comment if I were British, or French (bleh), or Croatian.
Going out to hang mine right now!

We are going to have such a rebuilding job come January 20, 2012. It will take a decade, or more, to repair the damage.

Amen, Peter!

So I guess the French and the Croatians are occupying Haiti then.

Guess so.
Freaking ridiculous, isn’t it?

Well the Haitians do speak a French/Creole lanugage. Guess all this time they’ve been a constabulary of France, wonder if they realized? Guess it’s a good thing that France is flying their flag over there. But if that’s the case, then why did George Clooney weep and hold a telethon? We didn’t need to jump in there and save them. We didn’t need to send the USNS Comfort to treat injured citizens and run at full capacity while they were there (for almost 2 months).
By 14 January, over 20 countries had sent military personnel to the country, with Canada, the United States and the Dominican Republic providing the largest contingents. The supercarrier USS Carl Vinson arrived at maximum possible speed on January 15th with 600,000 emergency food rations, 100,000 ten-litre water containers, and an enhanced wing of 19 helicopters; 130,000 litres of drinking water were transferred to shore on the first day. The helicopter carrier USS Bataan sailed with three large dock landing ships and two survey/salvage vessels, to create a “sea base” for the rescue effort. On January 16th, guided-missile cruiser USS Bunker Hill arrived.
Yeah, it’s a shame that we wasted our time, money, manpower and energy on a country that needed help. And that our service personnel and private citizens couldn’t work, proudly, under their own flag.
Kiss my dimpled butt bambi (love that name now). Your days are numbered. Literally! Calling DH to put up the flag now.

Bambi is the basest sort of individual. Aside from being a liar he has no morals and no honor.
Numbered? You betcha!
