I find myself asking ‘isn’t that against the law?’ a lot lately.
Senators have allegedly been bribed or forced into supporting health care by other nefarious means… [Senator Nelson and the rumors about Offutt comes to mind]
Isn’t that illegal?
But now the President of the United States is using his bully pulpit to coerce the American people into buying into socializing a good bit of the economy and sending us further down into the deficit pit from which there is no escape.
The president laid out a dire scenario of what will happen if his health care reform effort fails.
“If we don’t pass it, here’s the guarantee….your premiums will go up, your employers are going to load up more costs on you,” he said. “Potentially they’re going to drop your coverage, because they just can’t afford an increase of 25 percent, 30 percent in terms of the costs of providing health care to employees each and every year. “
The president said that the costs of Medicare and Medicaid are on an “unsustainable” trajectory and if there is no action taken to bring them down, “the federal government will go bankrupt.”
Obama told Gibson that anybody who says they are concerned about the rising deficit or worried about tax increases in the future has to support this health care bill.“Because if we don’t do this, nobody argues with the fact that health care costs are going to consume the entire federal budget,” the president said.
Obama has bankrupted the federal government. He needed no help from Medicare costs to do it, either.
Coercion (pronounced /co-er-shon/ or /ko???r??n/) is the practice of forcing another party to behave in an involuntary manner (whether through action or inaction) by use of threats, intimidation, trickery, or some other form of pressure or force. Such actions are used as leverage, to force the victim to act in the desired way. Coercion may involve the actual infliction of physical pain/injury or psychological harm in order to enhance the credibility of a threat. The threat of further harm may lead to the cooperation or obedience of the person being coerced. Torture is one of the most extreme examples of coercion i.e. severe pain is inflicted on victims in order to extract the desired information from the tortured party.

That’s right. No rate increase. No increase in cost to the employees. And just how did they pull that feat off? Well it’s called talking to your people…not DICTATING. Sharing that by using in-network providers, use the FSA accounts and taking proactive steps to be healthy and keep a healthy lifestyle, we’re able to keep our costs down which allows us to keep your costs down.
Go figure. Personal responsibility!
Meh, who am I kidding…it’ll never catch on in Obeyme’s world. The masses are too busy watching the midget get punched on Jersey Shore.

Yup! …and you’re right; it will never catch on with leftists…

Yeah, my reaction to this comment when I heard it was he’s already bankrupted the nation. Isn’t the definition of bankrupt when you’ve borrowed more that you can repay? Aren’t we in a cycle of raising the “debt ceiling” every time they want to spend more money? What is the point in a “debt ceiling” if you are just going to raise it every time you want to spend more money?
I heard a statistic a couple days ago that already – with the debt as it stand right now – if the government took every dime of profit from every Fortune 500 company for the next 147 years we could pay off 11% of what we owe right now. Boggles the mind. Which is why the American public cannot wrap its collective mind around the spending problem. The numbers have simply gone beyond our ability to comprehend.

If I remember correctly didn’t he also say that if we didn’t pass the stimulus plan that unemployment could reach as high as 9%?
Hmmmm, unemployment is currently above 10% and that is with the stimulus bill.
I shudder to think what the unemployment rate would have been if that stimulus bill didn’t pass

Huh…go figure a President elected from on of the most questionably corrupt locations in the country bringing with him lies, creating his own “wealth” and “health” plans that we have to buy in to…or else.
Doesn’t this smack of mafia, high handed tactics to anyone else? Is it REALLY a big surprise? Seriously? Why wouldn’t his cronies decide to give it a go as well. Just add another Czar to watch over and decide our own personal well-being and call it a day.
I’m going to choose pink bubble wrap…then it’ll be pretty to look at.

Oh, hell yeah! It’s thuggish behavior; it’s the only way he knows… and as for the multitude of Czars… well, some things piss me off more than others… and that’s one of them.
