YsD

Suffering the intrusion because I asked.

Thanksgiving was good. No drama, no hurt feelings, nobody got drunk and fell off their chair. So, boring but good. LOL!

YsD made the turkey and much of the rest of the meal, though I did my part. Since then I’ve cooked everything, so it’s a trade off, really.

It’s nice to retreat into a holiday weekend and pretend that Monday won’t come, but she and her boyfriend left this afternoon and I’m back to doing my normal housework… of course they plan to be here for Christmas.

I sent her off with some stuff… as much as she could feel comfortable accepting… because her food stamps were cut off. Most assuredly due to a technicality, but I’ve no idea how long it will be before they resume.
And yes, I know that is not our responsibility.

I think of the baby as ‘wee Angus’. No, that is not what she’s picked for his name… don’t you wish you could name other people’s kids?

Sounds like you had a good Thanksgiving. No drama means a good thing.

And, to be honest, I wish I could slap repeatedly some people because of what they name their kids.

Angus is a great name…one of my ancestors was Archibald, so who am I to judge!

    Angus would be AWESOME!

My husband’s family has names such as Maximilian (ahem) and Casper and Friedrich – mine has Clarence, Pauline, and Able

Drama? We had a little but it has yet to be played to the full. I have to wait until the steam stops coming out my ears before I address D3′s new body piercing. I realize she needs to express herself and exercise some independence – and certainly there are worse things – but she has a medical history to be taken into account and with her raging eczema she is not supposed to be poking holes in her nose. Plus I’d rather she talk to me about this sort of thing than her boyfriend’s mom. Oh wait. Your blog not mine – ack – rant over. Going to go sit down with my glass of whine and wait for the steam to abate :D

Maximilian is an old, solid name. Nothing to be ashamed of there! As are Casper and Friedrich, though they’ve gone out of style. Haven’t heard of anyone named Able in a coon’s age.

Oh, body piercings! Hate ‘em. Tanya came home with her navel and tongue pierced… but I wasn’t her mother. Gah!

I’m really fond of the names Aldolph and KIM Jong IL. :may: If twins, I’d call ‘em Obama & McCain. :nana: :flag:

Lovely photo of YsD. Looks like pregnancy is agreeing with her.

I like the name Angus, too. You know, that was McGuyver’s first name. Not that I know this or anything. :tinfoil:

You mean I can’t name other people’s kids? Huh. I’ve been doing that for decades. I don’t even remember my oldest grandson’s first name, he’ll always be Sluggo to me. Linda Lou has to remind me of the name the kids gave him. And so it goes with the rest of them.

Do you have a picture of your sister at her worst? I hope so, if she starts to backslide show her this picture, where she looks peaceful and almost glowing with that “worst” picture. Could help.

McGuyver’s first name was revealed in the final episode. Don’t ask how I know that. Or why I called the tv station when it was unceremoniously pre-empted the night it was supposed to air. Or why…oh…never mind. :hide:

As LD would say, “Hunter’s a nice name. Too bad I couldn’t have been named that.”

Of course, had I really been thinking when the boy was born, his middle name would have been Harrison. I like that name a lot.

Hunter’s a great name!! Harrison is a good name, also.

I never watched McGuyver, not even in reruns, which is where I catch a lot of shows… for instance, I am now watching Two and a Half Men on some obscure south Florida station… heh…
