Some good news from our Senate!
Senate votes to deny funds to ACORN
ByANDREW TAYLORWASHINGTON — The Senate voted Monday to block the Housing and Urban Development Department from giving grants to ACORN, a community organization under fire in several voter-registration fraud cases.
The 83-7 vote would deny housing and community grant funding to ACORN, which stands for the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now.
The Senate’s move would mean that ACORN would not be able to win HUD grants for programs such as counseling low-income people on how to get mortgages and for fair housing education and outreach.
Sen. Mike Johanns, R-Neb., said that ACORN has received $53 million in taxpayer funds since 1994 and that the group was eligible for a wider set of funding in the pending legislation, which funds housing and transportation programs.
The 7 who voted to keep funding the nasty need to be replaced next year.

I say replace all 100 and start over. No more lawyers, either!

I totally agree…!

Ah somewhere in the White House, Obama is shedding a few silent tears (ala the Indian/trash commercials of the 70’s) while playing soft and low in the background is a downbeat version of “To Dream the Impossible Dream”.
On the flip side…BWAHAHAHAHA!

Too funny!!!!
September 15th, 2009 at 4:33 pm
I want to know who the 7 are that voted against it? I bet at least one of them are from Michigan, we have the worst senators.

Here’s the Geography of the vote… and you don’t have anything to be worried about…

Pam, you piss me off!
Why do you have a “nice person”
looking avatar? Meanwhile, I look like some kind of a mutated vaginal discharge
! If you would change my avatar I would appreciate it as long as I don’t look like Kanye West
or I’ll have to kick you’re ass!!!
September 15th, 2009 at 5:00 pm
Awww… you’ll have to kick my ass? I’m gonna miss Hank Hill too…
If you would go to Gravatar and get an avatar of your own it would show up here… these little guys are automatically generated. Aren’t they cute??

Or Gene could be signed into WP and choose his own avatar that way. Still, that bluish thing he has is pretty funny.
Anyhow, THANK GOD someone got a vote right!
September 15th, 2009 at 5:40 pm
No kidding! Though I hope they realize that ACORN is changing their name to COI…
September 15th, 2009 at 6:50 pm
I doubt that the House will go along with this, they’ll figure out a way to weasel out of it. By the end of October there will no ACORN, instead there will be a NUTMEG or PINENUT or somesuch, with the same people and the same scams.
September 15th, 2009 at 7:45 pm
Arthur said the same thing. Not the funny pinenut stuff, but about the House not voting the way we’d like…
September 15th, 2009 at 8:23 pm
Maybe we should send the House, Pelosi, Biden and Obama a letter and let them know that we’re alergic to nuts.
Ha!
Is it wrong to crack myself up?
On the other topic, my avatar looks like Mrs. Potato Head made in China.

Prepare yourself for a shock… BOTH of the Senators from the great state of Illinois stood by their corrupt ACORN pals.
I’m sure there’s much more ACORN fun to come from these two… I can only pray that the entire series culminates with an extremely damaging video from the Chicago branch.
You know… Chicago? Where Obama suckled at the warm, delicious teat of ACORN? Where he was their lawyer, and trained their “workers”?
Oh… how I dream of the day that he is finally exposed for the corrupt fraud that he is….
September 16th, 2009 at 7:57 am
That day IS coming, Jana…
September 16th, 2009 at 10:04 am
Was there any surprise that both senators from Illinois voted no?
But what is the bigger surprise is that both senators from Michigan voted yes. Stabnaw I could see voting yes, but Levin is pretty far left from center and Detroit is part of his state.
September 16th, 2009 at 10:34 am
Good for them, whatever their reasons… now if it just goes all the way through…

I agree Pam! That light is beginning to eek out from the darkness and the “huddled masses yearning to be free” will either run from the scary bright light (like cockroaches) or they’ll embrace the warmth.
But based on this morning’s news, I think we can count Jimmy Carter as the “stuck in the dark” crowd. Why is it that Democrats jump to, “If you don’t like Obama, you must be racist”? Can’t they get something more original? Jeez, when they didn’t like Bush, we didn’t say it was because they were ignorant trailer living, sister-marrying stump-jumpers, did we? No. So why if I say (and believe) that Obama is a liar, am I labeled a racist? If he were Mexican, Japanese, Sudanese, White or Martian and pulled the exact same crap…I’d call him a liar. Come on people…you’re going to have to find soemthing much more intelligent to argue from than that old line.
September 16th, 2009 at 8:59 am
That inane argument has angered the man and I so much… I can’t begin to tell you…
September 16th, 2009 at 10:21 am
I wish I could meet Jimmy Carter and ask him to explain why I hate *HIM* so much? He’s whiter than I am!
Oh! Maybe it’s because he’s a commited leftist who tried very hard to destroy the country. And, now, I hate Obama because he’s trying to finish the job.
Idiot.
September 16th, 2009 at 10:33 am
Thank you!!
September 16th, 2009 at 6:01 pm
Hey! What have you got against us ignorant, trailer living, sister marrying stump jumpers anyway?
September 16th, 2009 at 6:30 pm
Hey, I resemble that remark!
September 17th, 2009 at 9:50 am
An overwhelming portion of Jimmy Carter’s brain consists of cotton, hay and rags.
September 17th, 2009 at 11:28 am
Cotton, hay and rags: “Hey! Don’t drag us into this!”
September 17th, 2009 at 11:35 am
September 17th, 2009 at 12:26 pm
My deepest apologies to the cotton, hay and rag community.
September 17th, 2009 at 12:27 pm
I’m sure a lobbyist/community organizer will be contacting you soon, Sissy…
