Garden, Greenery

plumeria close to bloom

Do you ever want to scream ‘bloom already, dammit’ at your plants?

It still looks like a rude gesture, but at least we can see a hint of pink in the tips… and three out of four ain’t bad.

Thought this was going to be another Obama/Antichrist post. That looks suspiciously like a devil’s pitchfork.

 Yeah, it does look like ‘ol Scratch’s tool… hilarious!

And no… I gave myself the day off from Scratch, Jr yesterday, so nothing yet. Heh.. ;)

I have a serious question. Some folks down the road had their half-built house burn down. I never met them, I did wave as I drove by. They then “stole” an abandoned mobile home and dragged it onto their property and lived in it. Much like the Jukes or the Kallikaks, quite frankly. So, now it seems that they’re gone. The doors are now busted out of the “stolen” mobile home, I reckon the wiring and any appliances are gone, though I haven’t looked.

Here is my important question: The one good thing these folks did, that I can see, is they planted some Iris. My Momma grew Iris, she actually hybrydized them, making grafts in itty-bitty little seeds and then growing the seeds in Agar in test tubes in the oven, Seems with a spool from some thread in just the right spot, the pilot light would keep the temperature perfect.

This oven full of tests tubes may explain why I could wear jeans with a twenty-eight inch waist when I joined the Service in ’64. I liked to starve to death.

Here comes the question. They are gone, the Iris are still there. Can I dig some of them up and plant them among the weeds in my yard? I don’t even want to take them all, just a few, to remind me of my Momma in springtime. What do you think?

Peter, I’ll restrain myself and not gush all over you… but yes, I believe that it would be perfectly fine to dig up some of the abandoned Iris plants…
